Desperation and mental disorder: in one word, Madness in Italy

A bunch of abandoned ruins and old papers stacked in the corners: this is what’s left from old Italian mental hospitals, which have been greatly portrayed by Luca Pelizzaro.

Madness is a time lapse video shot in two different asylums located in the Northern part of Italy.
Luca created this clip to make people aware of the distress those people living there were used to face everyday.

Although nowadays these places are not open anymore to the public, they still maintain a mysterious and macabre fascination.

5 Months shooting, over 40,000 photos merged into HDRs afterwards. A great post-production, from both the video and audio perspective.

A dramatic portrait of an old piece of story, which deserves the Best of 2014 award on Time Lapse Network too!
