The volcanic area of Kamcatka (peninsula in the far east of Russia) has been declared since 1996 a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Today we enjoy it in timelapse!
The Kamchatka overlooks the Pacific Ocean east, and the sea of Okhotsk west. The central valley and the river Kamcatka are flanked by large volcanic massifs, composed of more than 160 volcanoes, 29 of which are still active .
