This compilation of time lapse sequences was selected as a finalist in the time lapse category in the New Zealand Geographic 2016 photographer of the year competition.
Stephen Patience shared with us the following details on his video:
Many of these golden-hour scenes were captured across New Zealand from the far North to the deep South throughout 2016.
The time-lapse shows the contrasting change and the effect of light and shadow. Also observed are the effects of mother nature on her landscape with changes in weather, volcanic activity, and rare display of the Aurora Australis.
For me, the music I have selected epitomizes the essence of New Zealand. The track is performed by Horomona Horo who uses a traditional Maori wind instrument known as the purerehua which creates a buzzing sound. He is accompanied by Rodger Cunningham who fuses the sound with a guitar. See more here about Horomona here: horomonahoro.com
