hyper-lapse

The amazing Bucket List, hyper-lapsed!

If you think that you need some complex and expensive equipment to make a good time lapse, you are wrong! The Polish Piotr Wancerz brings us a great example that you only need a camera, a tripod and a good amount of creativity.

With the help of the beautiful model Ewa Pola, Piotr makes us travel through eight European cities in a kind of Bucket List style. The employed technique is the popular hyper lapse which involves making a displacement motion around a subject by simply repositioning the camera and/or the tripod after each shot.

Video

In this video the subject is the model itself always positioned in the centre of the screen, moving through the different locations a pace very much like a stop-motion film. The careful editing does the rest, stabilising the image and mixing the numerous scenes in a coordinated way.

But it’s not really the technique that makes the video interesting. It’s the concept and the idea that sets it apart from the other usual hyper lapses. And that’s what reminds us of how important it is to break routines and think outside the box in order not to be just another video.
